Whilst working at GSE Expo Europe 2026, it is important that you are aware of the safety rules, procedures and arrangements that are in place for your safety and that  of your colleagues.

Build-up & Breakdown Times

All employees and contractors are required to read these Site Rules prior to working at GSE Expo Europe 2026. They apply to staff, organisers, contractors and exhibitors.

Emergency Procedures

All accidents, injuries, near misses, dangerous occurrences, property damage and unsafe conditions must be reported immediately to the Organiser's Office.

Fire

If you see a fire either activate the nearest emergency call point or call +351 218 921 818 / +351 925 418 727. Then you must evacuate the area to allow the emergency services access to the fire. Only attempt to deal with a fire yourself if it is safe and competent to do so.

Medical

For medical emergencies requiring immediate medical assistance call +351 218 921 324 / +351 927 405 396 or inform any member of staff or security. For non-emergency medical issues and walking wounded, they can be taken to the medical centre which is located at the Main Entrance in Grand Hall.

Evacuation

In the event of evacuation, you will hear an announcement over the public address system giving you further instruction. Please evacuate in a safe and orderly manner and do not collect personal belongings. Please assemble in one of the pre-designated locations. You will be instructed by the Venue staff when it is safe to return.

Follow these requirements throughout the build-up and breakdown periods.

Personal Protective Equipment

High-visibility clothing and safety footwear meeting applicable safety standards must be worn at all times during the build-up and breakdown periods.

HELMET

Safety Helmets

Safety helmets must be worn wherever there is a risk from falling objects, overhead work, or as directed by the organiser or venue safety team.

HIGH-VIS

Machinery & Tools

Machine and tool guards MUST be used. Machinery without the necessary guards, or with damaged guards is not permitted and the organiser reserves the right to remove from service any equipment considered unsafe or non-compliant.

BIN

Waste & Environment

Please be respectful of your surroundings and our environment. Rubbish MUST be placed in bins or taken off site. You must remove all your construction waste or make arrangements with the official waste supplier.

BIKE

E-Bikes & E-Scooters

Electric Bikes (E-Bikes) and Electric Scooters are NOT PERMITTED anywhere on the site. Any Electric Bikes or Electric Scooters will have to be removed immediately, or they will be confiscated.

WARNING

Access & Fire Exits

Access roads, emergency gangways and fire exits MUST be kept clear. Keep work areas clean and clear to avoid slip, trip, and fall hazards and maintain access.

SPEED LIMIT

Vehicle Safety

The maximum speed limit on site is 20 km/h unless otherwise signposted. Exercise extreme caution when working near moving vehicles, GSE equipment, forklifts, cranes and other plant. Follow all instructions issued by traffic marshals and site management personnel at all times.

CHILDREN

Unauthorised Access

No Unauthorised Access. Children under the age of 18 will not be permitted onsite at any time during construction and dismantling.

SMOKING

Smoking & Vaping

Smoking and vaping are only permitted in designated areas and must be away from buildings, open doors and windows.

ALCOHOL

Alcohol & Illegal Drugs

Alcohol and illegal drugs MUST not be brought onto site. Anyone suspected of being under the influence will be removed from site immediately.

FORKLIFT

Lifting Equipment

Only authorised and approved operators may operate forklifts, telehandlers, mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs), cranes or other lifting equipment. Unless specifically authorised by the organiser, lifting operations must be carried out by GES Logistics.

ELECTRICITY

Electrical Tools & Batteries

Tools MUST be 110 volt or battery operated. Any 240-volt equipment (including charging units) must have an RCD fitted. Lithium-ion batteries must only be charged using approved chargers and must not be left unattended whilst charging.

CABLE IMAGE

Trailing Cables

Trailing cables MUST be minimised wherever possible. If they cannot be avoided, they must be clearly identified and used for the minimum time possible. Be aware of all slip, trip and fall hazards around site.

HEAVY EQUIPMENT

Heavy Plant & Machinery

Be aware of heavy plant and machinery on site. When operating plant or machinery use a banksman where possible and always when there is a risk of obscured visibility. Do not walk under raised loads and keep to pedestrian walkways where possible.

HEIGHT

Working at Height

All working at height must be planned to minimise risks involved so far as is reasonably practicable. You MUST not work anywhere you could fall without controls in place to protect you. All safety equipment must be fit for purpose.

Lone Working

Lone working should be avoided where reasonably practicable. Activities presenting a significant risk must not be undertaken while working alone.
